Step1
We ask you to suggest films you would like us to show. You can suggest as many as you like,
the more the better.
Please bear in mind that to be considered for showing, a film should:
- be about 2 hours in length or less
- preferably be one we haven’t shown before (here is a list of past screenings)
You can make your suggestions at anytime from our Suggest a Film page, by email to tfsmail@teignmouthfilm.org, or by filling in a suggestion slip at one of our film nights.
The closing date for suggestions will be our November film night.
Step 2
The film selection panel checks the details of each suggested film and finds out whether we can
get a licence to show it. They then meet up to select a long-list of 36 films across three
categories:
- Contemporary Drama
- World Cinema
- Classic films
aiming to have a good mix of genres and styles.
If you would be interested in joining our film selection panel this year, please let us know by
emailing tfsmail@teignmouthfilm.org, or by speaking to one of us at a screening, and we will be
happy to give you more information.
STEP 3
We hold a Voting Night at our January screening, when information about all the selected films
will be displayed in the bar. You can vote for the ten films you would most like to see across
the three categories: contemporary, world and classic.
We count the votes while you are watching the film and display the winners for you to see on
the way out.
